About
Dr. Zsuzsanna Gyenes, Founder & Director of Global Industrial Safety Solutions Ltd., is an internationally recognised Process Safety Specialist with over 15 years of experience in industrial safety, hazard identification, and regulatory inspection. A NEBOSH-certified Fire Safety professional, she has led safety improvements for major hazardous installations across Europe and the Middle East.

Why
Process safety and nuclear safety is my passion, and over the last twenty years, I have built extensive knowledge and experience in these areas. During this time, I have developed extensive knowledge in Process Safety Management Systems, Lessons Learned from Incidents, Emergency Response, Capacity Building, and more, particularly within the international arena.


20 years
Over the past decade, leading Technical Working Groups and collaborating with some of the most prominent international companies on a range of process safety projects has given me a unique opportunity to gain deep insight into their expertise and best practices.

Outstanding benefits
As a member of IChemE’s Loss Prevention Bulletin Editorial Panel and the Hazards Conference Technical Committee, I have gained a deep understanding and broad perspective on the latest challenges, developments, tools, and techniques in process safety. My involvement in international networks with authorities from the EU, UN, and OECD has given me a unique opportunity to observe firsthand the issues faced by competent authorities and inspectors.


National Geographic
Had the unique experience of being invited to the National Geographic Channel to be interviewed for their series Disasters Engineered, where I shared insights on the Fukushima Daiichi disaster. It was an incredible opportunity to contribute to a programme that explores the technical and human factors behind major global events.

NEBOSH certified in Fire Safety; main expertise in Process Safety Management Systems, Learning from past incidents and Disaster Management. Senior Process Safety Specialist with extensive experience in training CEO and management level of hazardous establishments on Process Safety Leadership and Culture. Further training experience in Process Safety Management Systems, Hazard Identification Techniques and specialised in Learning from Past Incidents. Experience in implementing tools and overseeing Process Safety Management systems for industrial sites, reviewing safety reports and safety analysis, advising on risk reduction and performing on-site inspections. Advising on how to improve current systems and advancing learning from past events.
Proven track record of developing guidance documents on Lead Process Safety Metrics with some of the world’s leading chemical and oil and gas companies.
Got invited to National Geographic Channel to be interviewed for the series “Disasters Engineered”, relating to Fukushima Daiichi disaster.
Visiting and facilitating training for industrial sites, speaking at international conferences, running technical symposiums, travelling worldwide, particularly in the UK, Europe, Middle East and US. Possess strong knowledge of emergency planning, MoC, hazard identification, consequence analysis and risk assessment. Proficient in structural analysis of industrial accident reports and conveying cross-sectorial learnings from past events. Extensive knowledge of global process safety practices, consequence model tools and currently progressing with fire risk and safety management studies.
Full ownership to lead the business development and technical work programmes of the IChemE Safety Centre in the UK, Europe, Africa and the Middle East and identify new ISC membership opportunities and projects to expand the membership of the ISC to advance process safety.
Prepared and delivered technical online training materials and webinars on Process Safety Management, Change Management and learnings from major incidents, hazard identification techniques, runaway reactions and facilitated the ISC interactive case studies with extensive worldwide participation.
Created and led the delivery of Special Issues of the IChemE Loss Prevention Bulletin being a member to the Editorial Panel.
