Construction Safety
Applying experience from major hazard and industrial safety to help construction organisations strengthen capability, decision-making and safe performance.
I bring more than 20 years of major hazard and industrial safety experience to support construction organisations to build capability, manage risk and make better decisions in practice.
Building Safety in Practice
The Building Safety Act has changed expectations around accountability, competence and how building safety is managed.
My focus is on four practical areas: competence, change control, organisational learning and safety management systems in practice, with leadership running through all four.
These are areas where regulatory expectations meet real decisions, project pressures and organisational behaviour.
From Compliance to Confidence
More than 20 years ago, I helped to implement the Seveso Directive for major hazard industries in Hungary.
At first, many saw it as more regulation and more paperwork. Over time, leading organisations used it to strengthen how they understood risk, developed competence, managed change, learned from experience and operated their safety management systems more effectively.
The same organisational challenge exists in construction today. Leadership determines whether regulatory requirements remain on paper or become part of how people appoint, decide, change, learn and assure in practice.
Four capabilities for safer, more reliable delivery
Competence
Can people make sound decisions in context?
Change control
Can the organisation control risk as work changes?
Organisational learning
Do lessons alter future action?
Safety management systems
Do responsibilities and decisions work together?

20-Point Project Delivery Readiness Review
Construction projects operate under multiple pressures. Design, approvals, resources, contractors, procurement, supply chains, communication, regulation and changing project conditions can all affect predictable delivery.
The 20-Point Project Delivery Readiness Review provides a structured assessment of recurring areas that can expose projects to delay, rework and loss of control. It identifies where stronger controls, clearer decisions or earlier intervention could make the greatest difference.
The review can be tailored to an organisation or project and delivered as an independent assessment, leadership workshop or project-readiness review.
- Identify exposure
- Strengthen capability
- Reduce delay and rework
- Build confidence in delivery
