Understanding how process safety works in practice
I work with organisations to understand how their process safety arrangements function in reality, how the different parts connect, and where further development can strengthen performance.
I take a systemic view of process safety. Rather than looking at individual elements in isolation, I look across management arrangements, technical conditions, operational practice, competence, information and decision-making to understand the overall picture.
Process safety depends on how the organisation works as a whole
Process safety is rarely shaped by one decision, one procedure or one part of the management system. It develops through the interaction of many factors across the organisation.
The important question is not only whether the elements are in place, but whether they work together well enough to give management a reliable picture of process safety performance.
My role is to bring an experienced external perspective, connect issues that may be sitting separately, and identify where focused development could make the greatest difference.
